It was a typical hot midsummer day when she entered her shelter carrying some pasta. She still could hear some voices inside her head and saw some shadows around her. Yet, since she arrived in this camp, the doctors took care of her, and the psychologist was visiting her frequently. Even though she was feeling safe here, yet she wanted to be with her only friend who was planning to leave the camp and move to the capital looking for ‘’ a normal life’’ as she said. Her friend was always grumbling and unhappy with life in the camp.

In contrast to her nature, one day, her friend came smiling. She was happy that she finally found a way to leave the camp and find a job in the capital. They left the next day, to spend almost three hours before finding a car to drive them to the closest city. After five days of travelling from a city to the another, they made it to the capital.

When she arrived in the capital, she was tired. The continuous movement and changes left her blurry and dizzy, yet she continued walking with her friend. Finally, they arrived at a house of some other female refugees. Her friend brought her food and ensure that she took her medicine before she slept for long.

Her friend found a job as a maid in a local family house, she was taking care of her friend and ensured that she got her medicine on time. She was trying to protect her, so she refused to let her work at any house. After seven months, she found her a good job as a housekeeper in a company.

Their lives started to get better, they rented a small house in the roof of one of the buildings and managed to get the necessary furniture. She was comfortable in her new job, and her friend was happy, especially that she got health insurance.

After two years, her friend failed in love, and though she felt comfortable to get married and left her friend, who seemed mentally stable. Yet she insisted on living with her husband nearby to her friend.

She felt welcomed and happy in that company, she was quit and hard working with a friendly smile. After spending three years working there a new person joined that company, he was a foreigner man, who treated her nicely, and he made her feel special. She was counting the time each night to see him again.

He asked her several times to visit him at home, but she hesitated especially when he asked her to tell no one about his request. He was deliberately ignoring her after each time she refused his request.

A while after, she learnt that he is leaving, she joined the other colleagues to the farewell dinner he organised at his house with a broken heart. When he asked her to stay after dinner and help him cleaning; she accepted, because she wanted to spend a longer time with him. But he took advantage of her sadness and swooped on her, she froze, she saw nothing but her darkness and heard nothing but her silence.

To be continued.
